Default Where can I get this part?

As a lesson learned the hard way, I have broken the nipple that connects my manifold pressure gauge to the aft side of the firewall. (see http://www.vansairforce.com/communit...ad.php?t=73153)

Can anyone help me identify the name or part number of the black plastic nipple that is broken in the following photos?

Thanks,
Troy

Default FLAPS should have it

That stands for "Friendly Local Auto Parts Store"

Take the pieces to one, bet they will be able to match it up.

Good luck.

Any idea what the mangled end looked like before I got through with it?

Is it a plastic version of the AN840-4D nipple? (http://www.wicksaircraft.com/catalog...2d6bd9f3acef6f)

Default Hose Barb

I'm guessing that it's a hose barb for 1/8" rubber type tube for the manifold pressure line. The questions would be if that's the correct size and then what thread is on the other end. When I did mine, I used a 1/8 hose barb x 1/4-28 threads on the other end. I then faced the bulkhead fitting, drilled the proper hole and tapped it 1/4-28.

Hope that helps.

Default Barbed fitting

As I recall, it's a 1/8" pipe thread with a 1/8" barb fitting or maybe 1/16". Ace Hardware may carry it. Or you could try Home Depot. NAPA may also be a good source.

Pretty sure that thread is 10-32, not pipe. Nipple is to fit 1/8" ID tubing. McMaster-Carr part number 5463K127 or similar should work.

Check out this page on Aircraft Spruce's web site.

Also, can you convert to one of these fittings (in aluminum)? I'm using one and have had no problems with it.
