Default Keeping the water out

Yesterday I went to shoot some approaches in an unexpected but welcome IMC condition for this time of the year. The rain was rather heavy at times and was getting some water in the cockpit, vast majority of it on the sides almost below the air vent dripping on my foot. Once landed, I examine my tip-up seal and could not find any trace of water/wetness and I wondering where does the water come from. My top skin to the firewall has not been sealed and I wondering if that is a source of leak or possibly the air vent but there was no water out of the vent but the black ducting tube was wet.

Any thoughts or experience with this certainly welcome.
