Smile Guess What?

OK, here's a little something I fabricated for our RV-3 - I'm guessing the avionics guru's out there will recognize it right off.....

if the exposed portion of the center conductor is near other metal parts, does it still perform OK! I plan on adding this to my RV-8 when the GNS 430 comes in soon. I will try it around the Roll Bar windshield intersection like you described.

Mine has been tucked up in the windsheild/roll bar slot and workign fine for quite awhile now - no issues.
