Lightbulb Dynon Oil temperature sensor

Hi Guys,

Just hoping someone can provide some advise.

I am installing the Dynon engine sensors on my Lycoming IO-360 M1B.

The only probe I am unsure about is the oil temperature sensor.

I have installed this into the top port of the spin on oil filter adaptor. The sensor does not have a gasket and easily screwed into the port all the way without any resistance. I have applied some Permatex thread sealant before tightening the probe. Is this sufficient to ensure that it will not leak. All the other fittings that I have installed seemed to have been tapered and thus it was obvious that a seal was being achieved.

Thanks,
Edde

No!

There is supposed to be a copper crush washer/gasket under there.

The part number you want is AN900-10 (same thing as MS35769-11)

You might also want to drill a hole in the oil temp sensor and safety wire it.

My application is similar to Jason , I used a small hose clamp around the sensor to provide a attachment point for the safety wire .
