Default Flight around the world

I just completed my 250 hr oil change on my RV-7. The milestone got me thinking about how many miles I've flown in the past seventeen months since my first flight.

Assuming a very conservative 150mph average flight speed X 250 hours, I have flown about 37,500 miles. The circumference of the earth is only about 25,000 miles!

I'm already halfway through my second lap around!

P.S. Rosie just lapped me again!

From Rosie: Let's see here...21 May 2010...3311.1 hours...times 150mph... divided by 25,000 miles...roughly 19.86 laps...will pass 20 a couple of hours from now

Nice. We've done 4.5 laps in four years.

Default Fun with math...

Looks like about a lap and a half of the earth in the '8' and 180 laps flying for a living.

Well, since I live up here in Wisconsin, the circumference of the earth I need to travel is only 15,850nm. So at 175 hours doing ave. 130nm/hr, I have done 1.43 laps.
