Default wingtip fibreglas cracks - how to fix?

Was just eyeballing another Rv this weekend, and they have the same random arcing cracks in the surface gel-coat I guess. These do not seem to be the classic 'cobwebs' from an impact, just hairlines 2" - 4" long.
A painter suggested just to keep them well waxed to keep moisture out, until I had decided to paint the tips another colour or whatever. ...but could they appear again?
My plan to use vinyl graphics as my new colour raises the issue whether these cracks are structural, or detrimental in any other way, and should be addressed before covering up!

anyone with experience dealing with these?
