Default Camping Directory

Amanda and I are going to start flying places for overnights in our little tent. As much as I enjoy trolling thru all the different posts, sometimes I just want a way to quickly lookup locations that you can fly and camp. So I am starting this directory in hopes that others will add to this directory. Please use the following format to keep this information consistent. It will also promote the possibility of a volunteer to stuff this information into a database at some point in the future as well. The following is just meant to get us started. I will try to add to the list in the future as I find time. I hope the list grows and it is useful to RV flyers all over the world... but will be happy with destinations here in the U.S.

List of airports where you can camp with your airplane.

Default Bump...anybody camping in North America?

Amanda and I haven't been camping yet... Texas heat got here too fast. How about the rest of US/Canada? Anybody gone camping with their plane recently?

If you're heading West, then there's Columbia and Kern Valley
And Trinity Center has a shuttle or a 30 minute walk to the camp ground.

Idaho has plenty, notably Johnson Creek and Smiley Creek with good facilities.

I keep thinking of more: Shelter Cove is right next to the airport.

Death Valley has Campgrounds next to Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells airports.

This information could be really useful if it was in a format like the "RV Hotel" listing on the sidebar of the VAF home page. (Hint!)

Payson, AZ (KPAN) has camping spots right on the taxiway!
