Default Fork Axle finish

The section of my nose gear leg that holds the fork is not a smooth machining like the main gear leg axles or the parts that go into the mounts.

I have a message off to Van's with the picture below to ask about it but that may take some time. I thought if someone else out there has been across the same issue I might be able to move on sooner. My guess is that this is not big deal since the big brass bushings ride on there and the brass being softer will adjust to the imperfect surface of the fork.
