Default Engine Choice

Happy Easter everyone,

I wondering if anyone could tell me which engine variants are available to me should I wish to use the smooth bottom cowl for a 7. I seem to recall Van's mentioning that it was the 200 hp version. Any other choices available? Would prefer to stick with a regular 180 hp FI.

Many thanx

Simon

I have the IO-360 M1B, 180 hp, from Van's. It is a forward facing horizontal induction system. The air intake is via a snorkle arrangement at the left cowl inlet ramp. So, the smooth face cowl is not restricted to the 200 hp engine, it is a function of the intake system.

By "smooth bottom" do you mean a lower cowl that does not have the snorkel as does my O-360 with a carb on the bottom of the engine and forward facing inlet?

Default Thanx

Thanx for the reply.

I thought it was just a question of horizontal induction vs Vertical and FI.

Thanx for the assistance.
