Default Tank building

I am getting ready to build the tanks for my RV7. I was wondering if there are any issues with rivet length called out. With the proseal sandwiched in there, is there a need for a longer rivet through the skins? A past builder mentioned that he thought his were short.

no problem with rivet length as long as the parts are tight clamped/clecoed. if you feel that longer ones are necessary just use the next length.

after double checking you are doing it right

I didn't have to use any longer rivets on my tanks, I did need extras of the blind rivets on the zbrackets

The industry literature says sealant thickness will be .001" to .003 between fay surfaces at the rivet when rivets are driven wet.

I'm mostly done with one tank and so far no issues with rivet lengths not matching what the plans call out.

I used fuel tank dimple dies (very slightly deeper than standard 3/32 dimple dies) to allow room for sealant.
