Question Position lights centerline

I am installing position lights on wing tips. Is there any guidance on how to line them up? Parallel to the chord line, all the way forward etc.? Should I just center them and call the day?

To illustrate the situation

Would it be acceptable? I still can move trailing edge of the light up and down.

I have read about the clear lens being distorted
from bulb heat. I would consider keeping the
bulb as far away from the clear lens as possible.

Good suggestion Tom thanks. I still have half an inch to move them back. The closest distance between the bulb and lens is about 3/4 as of now.
