can anyone tell me about a normal weight of 1800lbs for an rv-6a vs the 1650 lbs weight by vans

Lots of threads already out on this topic. You can use the Advanced Search function and search by threads or titles (I like using titles). Here's one that has what you are looking for and you can search 'gross weight' in the title to find others:
