Exhaust - Engine Mount Clearance

I have an Aerosport IO-360 with Van's standard exhaust pipes. Clearance between the pipes and the engin mount is very tight. I can raise the pipes slightly by loosening the hose clamps and readjusting, but it seems that over time, they will continue to sag and eventually contact the engine mount.

I could make it a periodic inspection item - but I'm hoping for a permanent fix.

Has anyone used a piece of heat-resistent foam material attached to the engine mount as a buffer? If so, what material and where did you get it?

Also, there may be a concern that any exhaust pipe contact - even to buffer material - is a bad thing.

Any opinions - or better - factual info?

I had the same concern. I have a RV-7A with TMX0-360. I now have 190 hours and the pipes have not sagged. The mounts hold them nice and snug.

I have seen engine mounts where the paint turned a slight burned color on some RVs in the field so I put a fire sleeve material that I pulled off of a fuel hose around the mount where the pipe got close.
