Default Newspaper article on RV builders in Israel

My cousin back in my native Israel just sent me a link to a feature article that appeared in local newspaper "Israel Today". The article is titled "the sky is not the limit", and chronicles what it characterizes as a growing community of amateur aircraft builders in Israel. And two current projects that the article specifically highlights are an RV-7 and an RV-8. Cool!

Now the local aeronautical talent, both military and commercial, are widely recognized, so no surprise there. And I've already known of a handful of amateur builders in Israel, including RV builders, a few of which have been known to frequent this forum. But I wasn't aware of just how many there are there -- as many as 70 amateur built aircraft flying, and no less than 25 known projects currently under way. Not bad for a tiny little country of 8 million, with merely twice the land area of San Diego county, and who's entire national airspace is essentially an ADIZ!

Anyway, I just got a kick out of reading it, so I thought I'd share.

The original article (in Hebrew) can be found here:

Or you can use Google Translate to get an English version. It does a pretty bad job of translating (some of its translation errors are actually quite comical), but good enough to get the general idea. Enjoy:
