Garmin sat/antenna connector

This post is in regards to the TNC connector required for my 430 satellite antenna. I've found two options for obtaining the RG 58 gizmo. The first is through an electronics warehouse down the road for under four dollars, and the other is through aircraft spruce for 30+. What's the deal here. Some special requirement of this connector for the antenna to function?

If you search Ebay for TNC and RG400 you will find commercially available assemblies of whatever length you need for very low cost. I think I paid all of about $5 for a TNC connector and10 feet of RG400, and I didn't need to crimp or solder it.
