Default RV builders tool kit - Which one?

Hi all,

I'm a first time builder and would like advice on which RV8 tool kit I should get. I have been looking at the Vans Aircraft site's tool suppliers list and suppliers like Avery Tools, Isham, Brown Aviation, and Aircraft Spruce and Supply, etc. have complete packages. Money is always a concern but with that said, I don't mind spending a little extra for a higher quality tool set. Rivet gun 2X or 3X, what is the preferred choice? All I own now is a Roll-away filled with standard car tools.

Thanks,
Mike

Default Avery

I purchased the Avery tool kit because I liked the back riveting plate they supplied with their kit (bigger and thicker than others' IIRC). Definitely get the 3X gun. You can turn the 3X gun down, but you can't turn a 2X gun up.

Best of luck,

Tom
