Default Tip: Fuel line support RV-7 & RV-9

In both the 7 & 9 the fuel line runs forward from the spar to the electric fuel pump. Van's suggests you support the fuel line with foam but how...

I made a simple 2" x 2" mold that I clecoed around the fuel line and filled with "Great Stuff" self expanding foam from Dow Chemical. The mold was the height of the inside of the tunnel cover. After the foam dried I cut the "crown" off with a hack saw blade before removing the mold.

Soaking the two of the dried "crowns" by soaking them in car gas did not seem to adversely impact the foam. Your mileage may very.

Here's a picture.
