Default Electric heater actuator?

In my never-ending quest to make my build last forever, I'm wondering if it makes any sense to use an electric linear actuator for the heater bypass valve. Has anyone ever done this? If so, what actuator did you use?

My motivation is that I just don't like the way the heater pull cable is routed - feels like it might get in the way of something if I do it as suggested.

Looking at something like this:

Thanks!

I have my heater control setup with a Futaba model aircraft servo controlled with a Perihelion Design controller.

I built up a simple linkage to connect the servo to the door keeping the servo out of the heated duct area, seems to work well but I'm not flying yet.
