Default Merry Christmas to the VAF Family!

Hi all.

Just a few words to wish all you readers of this forum a MERRY RV-CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW RV-YEAR! And a special and BIG THANK YOU to Doug who makes this site!

I'm also including a few pics of our progress so far:

The engine is hung and the prop is temporary bolted on:

Two of the guys have just started on the baffles but they sure don't seem to be "baffled by the baffles":

The first few holes on the panel are done and the big boxes are in place. We've also made a small subpanel for some switches etc.

As my first RV, this one is also beeing built with the right hand seat as pilot seat. That'll put my hands where they schould be: the right hand on the stick and the left on the throttle...

And finally here's my complete building team:

From the left:

Erling Olsen, retired engine mechanic from Royal Norwegain Airforce (RNoAF)
Eivind Vinje, retired aircraft electrical specialist from RNoAF
Kjell Nøstdal, retired technical controller from RNoAF (F-5, F-16, DA-20, UH-1B)
Roald Kilmark, retired a/c mech and retired head of a/c support shops (machinist shop, paint shop, metal-shop etc)
Yours truly, former RNoAF pilot (F-5 and F-16) now 737 in SAS Airline, early retirement 1st of Feb 2011.
Odd Sandvik, retired RNoAF pilot (F-5, F-104, RF-84F, F-86K, Jaguar exchange pilot in RAF)
Arne Ingvaldsen, retired a/c avionic spesialist from RNoAF
and finally: Per Strømmen, former RNoAF pilot (F-5, F-16) and just retired Airbus-330/340 longhaul captain from SAS Airline, he owns 1/3 of a RV-4 and 50% of a Vampire veteran jet (!) and flies them both.

Soooo...it's alot of experience here folks! And yes... I know; I'm a REALLY lucky RV-builder... I sure feel blessed.....

Anyway: hope you'll have a wonderful time during Christmas and over New Year and I'm hoping the holidays will be peaceful and filled with joy and happiness for you and your family!

God Jul Alf!

The kiddos have a couple of these on the tree...made them in a school project about Christmas in countries of their ancenstry (their paternal Great Grandmother is from Stavanger...Wilhelmsen is the family name there).

Team is looking good...and you look too young to retire...but congrats just the same! More time to have fun building and flying RVs!!

Cheers,
Bob

Default Merry Christmas Luke

Aviation is a beautiful thing. Went flying with a good friend in his Aeronca Chief this afternoon and it inspires me to continue on with the RV7.
