Visitors from the east
RV folks dropped in to Carlsbad this afternoon for cheap fuel and to lay low while weather bands move through.
There followed considerable discussion on varied topics such as RV flying, RV building, RV people, RV fly-ins, RV politics, airplane designers, NASA, aviation magazines, literature, writing, authors, basketball, C-17 flights into Antarctica, womens's hairstyles and many other such topics.
I believe the illustrious two are on to rain and snow buried Southern California, tomorrow.

I've been on a C-17 flight OUT of Antarctica... does that buy me a ticket to the conversation?

Yes, I'm interested. The context is that I just got e-mailed photos of a friend's son who did fly into McMurdo hauling helicopters and such. Maybe you were on the flight out.

(Totally RV unrelated)
In 2006 we helped the NY Air National Guard with some radar work. Had an RNZAF C130 ride down (8 hours of fun) and then a nice smooth C17 ride back a couple of weeks later. In-between was all kinds of fun including Twin Otter flights around McMurdo. The group went back in 2009 but I have since changed organizations so I didn't get to go. I'll see if I can dig up some photos, maybe tomorrow.

I believe
the incriminating photo kind of busts Louise.
Seems in a post on another thread she was all, "If we're to take the RV-8 to Big Bear, then Paul is riding in the back! Both ways!".

I guess I know that I've been on this site long enough now because I actually recognized them!

U-turn?
For the fun of it, I was tracking them on FlightAware this morning, and either they have turned around or FlightAware has gone on the blink. Anybody get a good bearing on them?
