Default Canadian paint scheme

In my constant quest for a unique and meaningful paint scheme for my 8, I stumbled on this. Never saw it before.

Were I Canadian, I'd have found my scheme. I find this outstanding!

It would be great to see this show up on someone's 8 someday.

Just thought I'd share it.

This is my planned colour scheme for my HR-II. I actually have the colour numbers somewhere in my files.

This jet was painted for the 100th anniversary of flight in Canada and on closer inspection of the aircraft, names of those that had an impact on Canadian aviation had their names on it. My buddy Tim Woods was the demo pilot for it in 2009.

Some pretty impressive photographs of it from various airshows can be seen here:

I am told that it is being scrapped.

Cheers

We used the colors from this aircraft for our RV-10 but a different scheme. We do have the emblem on our tail also

Yes, when the demo hornet was first unveiled with that paint scheme, I seriously considered switching from my Golden Centennaires scheme to that. When I drew out how it would look on my -9A though, I changed my mind. I think it looks amazing on a hornet, but I think it's quite unclear how it would look on an RV - especially a side-by-side model.
But indeed, it's my favourite demo-hornet. I love how they used teh gold and blue colours to honour the heritage of teh Golden Hawks and Golden Centennaires (there are now RVs in both those schemes - Kevin Horton's and my own). I also loved this demo hornet:

and have a die-cast model hand painted with this scheme on my desk at work.
