Hmmmm, still thinking this one out.
In the past, I have done my my other control surfaces in a similar way. I use a brake which is slightly different than the one in the plans and in George's videos.
Mine (actually my friend's) uses threaded rods to do the compressing and pinches the trailing edge quite accurately with good precision and strength. That being said, I normally cleco the front spar in place so that it will keep the whole kaboodle true and it hasn't failed me yet. Nor have the stiffies bent under the pressure.
Sooooo, I am still thinking I will be okay. Maybe I will try one and see how it goes?
