Default Google Earth

Question for anyone using Google Earth. Does the $20.00 upgrade, from the free version, give better street level resolution? I'm looking at property out west and would like to zoom in on yards and houses. The free version does not render enough detail to see the houses in any detail. Is it worth it?

Thanks,

Roberta

Default Local County GIS

Roberta... look and see if the local county has a GIS web site.

Our local AZ county (Pima) has a free on-line mapping web site that can also display aerial views.... and it also directly links to tax info.

Default Windows Live Local

You might try http://local.live.com/
I think they have more current imaging. My house has a pool on there site and doesn't on Google Earth.

Seems to be hit-or-miss re: imagery currency. My neighborhood has the same imagery on both Google Earth and the Local Live site, and it's about 5 years old.

Roberta:

My wife is a geographer and GIS specialist for the USGS. If you have a particular area (i.e. a street address) I can get you the latest and greatest aerial photography. Drop me a private message.
