Default Strobe RF Question

After looking through the archives, I didn't see this question exactly so thought I'd ask...

I've got the strobes on my -6A wired up now (Nova XPAK) and it appears to work ok. My handheld com radio (ICOM A4) doesn't pick anything up unless I place the antenna within an inch or two of the power supply, then it chirps in time with the strobes. I *think* this will be ok; the nearest antenna on the plane is approximately three feet away and the handheld hears nothing here.

If I turn the squelch off, however, I hear "ticks" in time with the strobe. This concerns me - I'm not sure if need to worry about this, however.

My strobe power supply is grounded where it mounts, and the shielded wires out to the wing and tail are grounded at the power supply end only.

Anything here I should be concerned about?

Thanks!
