Default Baggage door on a 6/7/9

I noticed this in one of Doug's photo albums.

Certainly nothing I have seen before. Anybody know of this plane and how this mod was done?

Interesting side skin joints too. I wonder if those are a result of the baggage door mod or is that part of the early -6 design?

They aren't on the -6 plans, old or new.

That aircraft belongs to Steve Barnes chapter 124 Santa Rosa CA. It is a SUPER SIX.......... After stretching the fuse and installing an O540, this baggage door mod was a minor task.
