Taxi/landing lights in gear fairings or cowl?
I decided to not cut the leading edge, and had planned on using wing tip landing and taxi lights with my slick new aveos. I have not found a solution I like yet.
With the very thin (flat) mounted spots now available from many aircraft LED suppliers, I was wondering if anyone has any luck mounting them in the fiberglass.
The older deeper HIDs would not be good for this, but things are changing. In the latest sport aviation magazine there is an article on a 30 year old building his third plane from scratch. He has a light in the nose fairing, got me thinking again. One there for taxi, one in the lower cowl pointing under the prop for landing seems like a possible solution, and could easily be built in to look clean.
Anyone with good ideas or experience on trying it?
