Default Skyview Demo mode?

Is there any kind of "demo mode" or hidden capability on the Skyview? It'd be kinda neat to see the thing "working" before hooking up the gazillion sensors and inputs...

TIA

Steve

Recently installed one. No, there was no simulator or Demo mode. Before things hooked up you'd get big Xs on the screen. You might want to check out the forums on the Dynon site--lots of good info..Tom

Got the EMS and ADAHRS units connected and detected, and GPS receiver talking to it...looks *fantastic*, and spent the evening playing with the screens. Can't wait to get everything installed on the plane now (and saving for the NAV/COM stack...).

Dynon really should have some way to put it through its paces on a simulated flight (maybe via connection to a PC). Oh, well...

In the meantime...onward!

Thanks...

Steve

Thumbs up Well, actually.....

Yes, there is a demo mode. It is a software download, intended for airshow displays, etc. We have a SkyView on the front counter in our FBO, since we are a Dynon dealer. It is a working unit, loaded with demo software, in addition to the standard software. If you connect an ADAHRS, you can actually make the airplane "fly" around.

I don't know if Dynon makes this software available to end users, however. I would suggest calling them and asking.

Off hand, I'd say that such a "feature" could be a huge legal liability. Imagine if someone's kid started "demo mode" in the soup?

There is a demo video on the site.
