Default Horizontal oil cooler - evac

I have my oil cooler firewall mounted, it's about horizontal. How do or I evac the air from the cooler as I pre-lube the engine? Or am I looking at this too deeply? Rick 90432

Default Ours was also on the firewall....

...and we simply ran the engine with the starter and the top spark plugs removed. It purges the lines and cooler pretty quickly.

Best,

I questioned the Pacific Oil Cooler owner at OSH a couple years ago, and he said the same thing. Oil, especially cool oil has a much higher viscosity than air and will purge a cooler in any orientation.
