Default Mooney Exhaust?

I didn't want to hijack the Vetterman thread so here is another exhaust thread. Has anyone used a mooney exhaust (or similar) on an RV. In my particular case, I'm building a -8. Mooneys also utilize a cooling plenum. Anyone tried reusing the mooney plenum? As there are lots of mooney parts around, I'm wondering if anyone has tried this for cowl fit, etc.?

Having owned an old 180 Mooney for 16 years I think I can comment on this. The cowling on the 180 is tighter than an RV. Only issue you might have would be where the pipe exits. On the Mooney it exits just above the right cowl flap which is a bit lower than the RV cowl exhaust. I think it will work for you other than that. Hopefully someone who has actually used one will comment on this.

I like the cooling plenum idea. I wish I could find a used one to try it out.

Default Cooling Plenum

I have a comlete O-360-A1A from an early Mooney including exhaust and plenum. I might give it a try. No doubt, if it will work, someone has already done this. I'm hoping maybe the plenum will work as the baffle appears to be in pretty decent shape.
