cold wx starting tip
if you have carb heat pull it right after start up to get warm air helping the engine to run. it will help by decreasing the density of the incoming air, extra-rich fuel mixture conditions will be created and vaporization will be helped.

Just remember
that's unfiltered air you're sending into the engine when you pull the carb heat. Would think twice about doing that in a dusty environment.

My carb heat source is outside the filter....there is no path into my engine for unfiltered air. I did not install the alternate air kit.
