Default POH and Experimentals

Is there a requirement to have an aircraft flight manual/pilot operating handbook for an experimental airplane? The airplane I am looking at has the airworthiness certificate with operating limitations, weight and balance info, and placarded limitations on the side of the cockpit, but no POH. Is this all I need (in addition to my registration) to be legal? Or does some sort of POH need to be present?

Thanks...

Jim

You do not have to have a POH with an experimental.

No POH required. You listed everything that you need:

Airworthiness Certificate
Certificate of Aircraft Registration
Operating Limitations
Weight and Balance Data

However, I think a POH is nice to have (I plan to write one for my plane).

Default No POH required

OPs Limitations, W&B, placards, AW cert and Registration(s).
Should be good to go (I'm sure a DAR will jump in to verify). If there isn't already one for the aircraft, I'd suggest you take your time and develop a good checklist (not required) and actually use it. I know, I know, lots of RVers do it all from memory.

Default Phase 1

A POH is a great way to express all that exceptional performace data you collect in Phase 1.
