Default Garmin 530W Operation

Didn't realize the 530W doesn't input low altitude airways. Is it strictly a "Direct To" box or is there an easy way to input airways and intersections between two points?

Thanks,

Lee...

Intersections are in the database. You just need to ensure to get enough intersections in your flight plan to stay on the airway. The "gotcha" is an airway that isn't a straight line.

Airwayplanner.com has a subscription service of airways and intersections to address the lack of airways on Garmin panel GPSs

Good information. Thanks, guys... I realized the intersections were in the database, but it seems a lot of trouble to input them much of the time. That's where airwaysplanner comes in, I guess.

Thanks and regards,

Lee...
