Default Rear spar trimming

For all you structural engineering types,

After having drilled my rear spar attach holes, jazzing one up and applying the fix from Van's, I now have a problem where the rear spar sticks down too far to allow the belly skin from smoothly tansitioning to the bottom wing skin.

So I'm wondering if I can trim the bottom of the rear spar to allow the transition as long as I maintain minimum edge distance to the rear spar attach hole?

What do you think?

I think this one is worth a call to Vans regardless. It might be fine, but there is certainly a limit to my willingness to do garage engineering. Unfortunately, I did not stay in a holiday Inn last night, so I can't help.

Default Word from Van's

Just got a word back from Van's on this.

Scott says as long as the 5/8" edge distance is maintained, I'm good to go.
