Question How to make tight bend?

I would like to make my side cowl hinges like one of this type.






Could some of the experts please share a trick or two how to bend these hard pins? I broke one trying to make 1/4 radius.

Default heat

I used a propane torch to heat em til red. They bend like rubber.

Yep, gonna' have to use heat to make a tight bend there.
