Torque for oil/fuel hoses

I'm hooking up my engine, starting with the oil pressure hose. The Lycoming overhaul manual seems to call for 30 in-lb torque on this hose; however, this ends up being less than half a flat from hand tight, so it seems like it could come loose easily. Also, it's much less than we'd typically use on aluminum tubing and fittings. Am I missing something here?

To quote Dr. Leonard McCoy; When in doubt the book prevails. Press on with that small a torque. but for your own peace of mind, apply a small dab of torque seal on the fitting to see if it actually breaks free during operations.
