Default Dimple die for AN509 ?

I have what I thought to be a #8 dimple die but it comes up shallow on the AN509 screws for the counter weights. I measured the die and now believe I received a 5/32" die by mistake.

Am I correct to believe that a #8 should be the correct die for this fastener?

Default If its a 509-8

If its a #8 screw, then yes, the proper #8 dimple die should be deep enough for the head.

I believe my '7' counterweights used #10 screws.
Check your screws as I would think the
'8' tail is very similar.

An509-10R24

10= #10-32 threads/inch
24= 24/16 " long or 1-1/2"

You can cross them to their new number
at Aircraft Spruce.
Look under MS24694 machine screw.

You might want to borrow a #10 dimple die set
or make something as there are not many places
where you need to use a #10 dimple die.
