What type of tool is used to make this type of flange for access covers?

Used to form a joggle in aluminum, this hand tool is available from Avery:

Rick,

Have you (or anyone else, chime in) used this tool? Would like to know how well it works, including around the corners.

If your goal is to form an inspection panel opening, it might be easier to flush rivet a doubler ring with nutplates. Then you won't be mad about a sub-par joggle.

Well, I'm not allowed to get "mad" any more.

But doubler rings (the RV-6 method) add weight & I do suspect the RV-7 skins are formed using an hydraulic press & factory tools.

Mainly was just wondering if anyone had done a reasonable job by hand.

The joggle is neater for sure, just trickier. Do you plan on seveal of these openings?
