CS vs FP statistics

I know it's hard to find right percentage but does anybody know how many RVs are flying with FP vs CS. Approximately.

Also I would be glad to hear from real life CS to FP converts (not vice versa) how difficult and different is the conversion? A friend of mine who totaled his prop recently is thinking of going fixed pitch. The main reason for this is that he won't be able to get new cs any time soon. Late fall is the earliest if he is lucky.
