Default EGT probe

The one I have (rad clamp type) is toast and I ordered one from Spruce (Westach) and they sent me one which has a threaded fitting like the type used for a CHT probe?? No hint as to how it is secured to the pipe... hestitate to drill/tap the exhaust pipe. Not convinced it would stay put.
Anyone tried this type? or should I request a clamp type replacement.?

As a side note ,I also replaced the CHT spark plug washer type probe with a bayonet style for improved accuracy and am getting much lower CHT readings, probably 50 to 100 degrees lower!

Cheers
