Default Help with Elevator Attachment

Having trouble getting the bolts into the hinges with respect to the elevator attachment. Cant get my fingers in there. Thinking about using a pair of needle nose pliers to get the bolts in there. Anybody got any other tips?

Is this final attachment? If not, do yourself a favor and get a set of temp assembly pins: http://www.averytools.com/pc-240-116...mbly-pins.aspx

Or make something similar. They really make attaching control surfaces a breeze. Otherwise, I can't help ya as I have yet to bolt on any of my control surfaces.

Default 10 elevator attach

Vindino, your suggestion to use the plyers is a good one. I filed a round spot on each grip side, then smoothed them to hold but not scratch the bolts. The rounding holds the bolt quite well. Washers are another issue. I used tape to position them.

I use a pair of medical clamps. Don't recall the name perhaps forcepts. There long pliers, you cannot apply much force but they lock onto the bolt and you can focus on lining the bolt up rather than keeping it pinched. I find it frees up your hand.
