Need a transponder antenna?
I knew it was only a matter of time before I broke the wimpy monopole transponder antenna on my -3. Saw this link on VAF a while back and saved it:

What's the status on the recontoured low-drag version of the antenna?

Hello Steve,
I have been unable to achieve acceptable RF performance within the confines of the low drag model, very little space to house the needed components and provide an acceptable mounting configuration.
I have set it aside for the time being till I come up with a better method to get 10 pounds into a 5 pound bag.

Ooops, I violated packaging constraints?
Hmmm, I didn't realize I violated a packaging constraint. Tell me where you need more space/volume, and I can advise on how to enlarge without drag penalty.
I didn't realize there was anything inside except the metal .015" thick paddle.
