Talking is a slick mag core worth $150 to VAF to rebuild?

i am in the process of replacing both mags with 550 hrs since new #4373 and #4370. they are in the plane running fine. the big question is it worth selling to someone for the core to rebuild? the $ would not include the gear or harness. i will be swapping out mine next week. if this makes any sense to anyone than let me know. it may be worth some discussion on the matter, especially the e mag guys. turbo

Are you saying you would sell them for $150 each? I will take them both.

That?s fine, I figured you where going EI. If not then why are you doing anything more then a 500 hour inspection? Take them off, inspect the points, the cam and set the ?E Gap? (internal timing) and keep on flying. These don?t have a 500 hour life, some will make it to engine TBO and some wont based on many factors like frequency of use and a big one is moisture contamination. If some one told you these have a 500 hour life, they misspoke!
