Default Garmin 496 XM and Autopilot?

I would assume that the autopilot output from a 496 uses the same USB connector that the XM antenna uses. So is it possible to run both simulatanously? I can find nothing in Garmin or Trutrak documentation.

Regards,
Craig

No, it does not use the same USB plug as the XM antenna.

The auto pilot feed comes off the larger, multi-pin, connector on the back of the 496.

As far as I know, every autopilot out there works with the 496. You just have to set it up correctly. Check with your autopilot supplier for details on how to connect it.

My Dynon autopilot works with my 496, it uses the wire bundle like Bill mentioned tied into the nema in-out between the 496 and the EFIS.
