Default Engine Control Cable Boot Perishing

Anyone else noticed cracks and perishing of the rubber boots on the swivel at the end of the engine control cables?

Default perish the thought!

...and might there be a better hi-temp version so that we don't have to do this again next year? ..not a 5 minute job to remove the clevis end, re/re, mark thread lengths, safety-wire etc.

Rub some black silicone RTV on them at the first sign of cracking (or before) and they'll last a lot longer.
