Default Gasket for tach drive cap?

I'm replacing my mech tach with a p-lead triggered electric. The Van's tach drive cap came without any type of gasket, & there's none in the old cable attach cap, either. Is nothing required to seal the cap to the fitting?

Thanks,

Charlie

Don't need a seal, and you don't even need the cap. There is an oil seal already in the drive. Use locktite, or glue on a AN nut with a hole for safety wire. Numerous caps have fallen from the sky...

There's not much of a seal in mine.... that tach drive cable is well lubed. Oil drips into the cockpit all the time from the drive cable, but litte-to-none at the fitting on the accessory case. I'll try thread sealant & safety the cap.

Thanks,

Charlie
