Default TFR's depicted on Garmin 396

I flew in Charlotte two days before the President's visit (he was here today).
The area was covered with yellow circles and yellow cross hatching, as a warning that a TFR was coming.
Does the color change to red when the TFR is active?
I want to know RIGHT NOW if I am in or near a TFR.

Yes, based on my experience with the 396 the graphics turn red when the TFR is active. Obviously, don't depend on the garmin to keep you out of the newspapers though.

ATC would be your best bet.

So far, in my experience, the XM weather function has done a good job of putting up TFRs in our area. Lot's of them for forest fires last year, and even some for "gas releases". Couldn't figure out what those were for, until I saw a television program on the Bermuda Triangle. Seems that methane can kill airplane engines. And in this TFR area, there are lot's of cows.......
