Default Carburetors vs Fuel Injection

For those of you interested in the subject, I refer you to Contact! magazine issue #54 which has a very good article on the subject, The author, Fred Carter, goes into depth on the subject of carburetor sizing and the expected manifold pressure drop with sizing. This article will show you why the carburetor on an engine will give a drop in pressure, such as the 1.5" on an M-S on a Lycoming at WOT. Also in this issue is an excellent article on Detonation and Pre-ignition by Allen W. Cline, a GM Powertrain Staff Engineer. This is a subject on which many use these two terms interchangeably and incorrectly. Back issues of Contact! articles may be ordered from the Contact! web site.
