Default Strobe box mounting?

I've read all the post about mounting locations in an rv-6, but can the box be mounted on the floor just behind the seat backs, say, in between the seat belt attach points? Any reasons why not, besides losing a little baggage space?

Default Yes you can

I cut a hole in the baggage compt. floor, passenger side, just outboard of the center tunnel, leaving enough room for platenuts. Covered it with .063 and #8 screws, beveled the edges of the cover. Mounted the ELT and the strobe power supply to the cover plate. Thus no brackets and nothing on bottom skin of aircraft. Also, easy to service when you remove the plate and flip it over. This is a -7, but I think the -6 is very similar.
