Some GRT info

I found out a possibly useful piece of info today - the standard oil temp sender used by GRT will only read down to 59 F. Maybe that is common knowledge, but I wasnt aware of it.

I was checking my instrument indications after buttoning my panel back up after some upgrades, and noted the 59F reading. The hangar was 32F so I thought there was a problem. The 59F reading is the same as an open (as in possibly broken) connection. Finally called GRT after an hour or so of troubleshooting and found that to be normal.

Maybe this will save someone else repeating the same useless drill.

Yes, it is the default value for oil temp. It'll read that when it is colder than 59F and it will read that when your temp should be up after you've been running the engine and your temp sensor has failed - as mine did. GRT was very good about replacing the temp sensor with a new one.
