Question Placing the step on the front of the wing?

Has anyone though about placing the RV's A models step in front of the wing like the Diamond DA40?

Default Wing tank

I don't think you want to step on the wing tank.
I think the distance from ground to trailing edge is less then that of leading edge.
Hey it is a plastic plane made in Europe, why copy that? George

Default No Step

I agree. There is no wing walk on the fuel tank like there is on the wing behind the spar.
